Here goes: random facts about me you may not have known.
1. I am Catholic. Kidding! I bet you knew that already 🙂
2. I had tubes put in my ears twice when I was a toddler and I have vivid memories from both times (to that nurse: the knock out gas was totally NOT bubble gum flavored)
3. I dislike most rom-coms and am not a huge TV fan
4. I loved being in musicals and dreamed of being a Broadway star in my tween years. My Pooh Bear journal is living proof of this interesting time in my life when I was semi-obsessed with this.
5. I am always the one to have a camera ready and take pictures at events
6. I’ve never been to the east coast area except for the March for Life in D.C. twice. Someday I’d like to explore over there, but I have no dreams of traveling the world.
7. American Sign Language was the main one I learned in high school. Thankfully taking it at a junior college counted for college credit here, so I don’t have to take any more language classes. Whoohoo! Good thing because language is not my forte.
8. I am always more productive and motivated when I wear tennis shoes.
9. I love blogging late at night when it’s quiet, but it’s WAY too easy to all of a sudden look up and it be 1:30am. That hurts the next morning 🙂
10. I end lots of sentences with exclamation points or smiley faces 🙂
11. A couple years ago I accidentally stabbed myself in the palm of my left hand and thankfully have no serious repercussions from it.
12. I don’t like to paint my fingernails.
13. Someday I want to learn how to coupon enough to save a significant amount of money. But don’t worry. I’m not going to be on the extreme couponing show.
14. I very rarely get sick and don’t remember the last time I took medicine.
15. Someday I want to go zip-lining.

A Drop in the Ocean 
You took ASL!!! So did I! High school and then in college for two years 🙂 And actually, I just started tutoring someone in ASL, so I kinda get to get back into it. Way to go! 🙂

Nice!!! I took ASL and spanish, and ASL is WAY easier 🙂 Then I taught signs to my youngest sister when she was a baby. That was super cool 🙂 How did you decide to take that?

Well, I took it for a year in high school as a homeschooling perk 🙂 And then when I had to pick a language for college, I decided to start studying ASL again. And then I decided I loved it a lot and took it all 6 quarters, even though my degree only required 2.
What about you? And teaching it to your sister is SO cool!!! 🙂

Aw, that’s awesome! Being homeschooled we took language classes at our local junior college, so I took ASL with my sister. And cool thing: it transferred so I don’t have to take any in college. It’s definitely something I want to get back into at some point! Teaching it to my sister was a lot of fun and it was crazy awesome. She could totally sign with us before talking 🙂

Homeschooling was pretty awesome 🙂 I took it as a freshman, but then enrolled in a private school that did Latin grades 3-10, so I had 1 year of each. That’s why I “had” to take it in college, but it ended up being my favorite class! 🙂
How much younger than you is your sister? That’s so great! My friends teach their kids some signs, and I have to try not to cringe when they call it a language. Guess I’m a Deaf snob now :-p I mean, signing with kids before they speak is great, but it’s not its own language, and Deaf people fought so hard and so long to be recognized…just a little pet peeve of mine!

Definitely understandable. After taking ASL I know what a big difference there is between ASL the language and just teaching babies/toddlers a few signs. NOT the same! My youngest sister is 14 years younger than me and we started teaching her around 10 months. Definitely a cool thing to do!

The best part of growing up in a “big” family! I love having siblings significantly older than me 🙂 And I think it’s awesome for us ladies out there to have a way to exercise the motherly instinct and learn from experience.

Haha, I’m 3rd of 7 here with 2 in heaven. My oldest sibling is 24 and youngest is 5. Fun times! How about your sisters? You said you were all close in age so I’m sure that was fun too 🙂

Haha, I end most of my sentences with exclamation points and smileys too! It just seems flat otherwise, and I want people to be sure I’m happy when I’m saying something. 🙂
